Position: IT Assistant
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Position Summary:
The IT Assistant role is essential within the IT department, focusing on the support of Microsoft desktop applications and other critical software. Responsibilities encompass the installation, upkeep, and troubleshooting of necessary software and hardware on-site, diagnosing technical issues at the user level, and collaborating to resolve them effectively. This position involves maintaining end-user workstation equipment, including laptops and desktops, as well as additional peripherals like IP telephones. The role requires flexibility to work in both office and warehouse environments.
Reporting Structure: This position reports to the IT Specialist at API and adheres to departmental policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive IT system and user administration support.
- Assist in IT asset management and inventory control processes.
- Identify and resolve issues related to desktop performance, applications, or network functionality.
- Deliver on-site support for immediate assistance and escalate issues as necessary.
- Collaborate with the IT infrastructure team to ensure adherence to configuration and change management policies.
- Develop and maintain compliance with best practices in infrastructure and information security, including documentation and policies.
- Work closely with other IT personnel to resolve problems efficiently.
- Propose enhancements and perform maintenance on IT-related equipment.
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of the Windows desktop operating system (Windows 10) and the complete Office 365 suite. A minimum of five years in a computer support role with familiarity in computing hardware, software, and desktop support is preferred.
- Basic understanding of networking, including the setup and deployment of networked printers.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft products.
- Familiarity with Windows domain is a plus.
- Exceptional troubleshooting abilities.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with cross-functional teams.
- At least an associate's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in a warehouse setting or similar environment is preferred.
