Transformative Role at Nebraska Medicine

As a Patient Access Senior Associate at Nebraska Medicine, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless patient experiences. Your primary responsibility will be to greet patients and customers in a professional, timely, and efficient manner, while accurately and efficiently creating accounts to optimize cash flow for the organization. You will also be responsible for scheduling confirmation, pre-registration/pre-admission, registration/admission, insurance verification, receipting of payments, and patient wayfinding/escorting. This role requires face-to-face and bedside patient contact, and you will be expected to work in a proactive, self-directed manner.

Key Qualifications:
  • Minimum of two years customer service experience
  • High school education or equivalent
  • Ability to work in a proactive, self-directed manner
  • Multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with aptitude for detail-oriented work
  • Ability to type 35 wpm with 95% accuracy rating
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of hire or transfer date

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in healthcare, collections, registration, or revenue cycle
  • Associate's degree in business, healthcare, or related field
  • Experience in healthcare revenue cycle functions, including insurance or registration
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel
