About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our Community Care team at United Church Homes, Inc. This is a key leadership position that requires a strong background in business management, healthcare, and community development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and direct all activities of the community, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, as well as United Church Homes, Inc. policies.
  • Develop and implement business strategies to achieve marketing, occupancy, quality of care, hospitality, and financial objectives.
  • Facilitate marketing and admission processes, review census, and support sales and marketing efforts.
  • Represent the community in external communications, public relations, and marketing activities.
  • Review and sign records and documentation, as required and authorized.
  • Provide leadership for the recruitment, onboarding, and orientation of new employees.
  • Initiate and monitor community procedures, systems, and processes consistent with business requirements.
  • Provide community-related data and information responsive to business needs.
  • Direct the preparation for licensure and certification surveys.
  • Provide direction for delivering high-quality healthcare services that meet or exceed community standards of care.
  • Provide input in the development of the community operating budget and demonstrate effective financial stewardship.
  • Listen to family members' questions and concerns and resolve issues.
  • Complete community walk-throughs to assess resident and family satisfaction and address complaints or other issues.
  • Provide opportunities for staff employee training on safe work practices and periodic reviews of work activities, materials, and facilities to minimize potential hazards and loss incidents.

  • Serve as a liaison in the communication of organizational objectives and initiatives to stakeholder groups, including but not limited to: Resident's Council, Board(s), or external constituents.
  • Receive, investigate, and respond to resident, family, and employee complaints and grievances.
  • Maintain effective communication with residents, family members, employees, and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure all memory support services are provided in conformance with established dementia care protocols.
  • Establish and achieve operating and strategic performance goals and accountability for individual team member and enterprise performance.
  • Act as a liaison with Advancement to support donor cultivation, fundraising, and other programs of engagement.
  • Represent the community at a variety of local, civic, and church-related activities.
  • Participate in scheduled corporate leadership training, outreach, and other public events.
  • Participate in all mandatory in-service training and required meetings.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: Business, Hospitality, or Health Management.
  • Master's Degree Preferred, Field of Study: Business, Hospitality, or Health Management.
  • 5+ years of experience in Five (5) or more years of relevant professional experience required.
  • Current State of Ohio Nursing Home Administrators license preferred.
  • Must obtain and maintain mandatory State and Federal requirements and certifications for practice or occupation.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Familiarity with Life Plan communities, hospitality services, long-term care, and healthcare services delivery required.
  • Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak the English language.
  • Must be able to work with residents, resident families, staff, visitors, vendors, corporate staff, surveyors, and inspectors.
  • Must be able to adhere to all terms and conditions set forth in the United Church Homes Employee Handbook.
  • Must be accessible at all other times when not present at the community.
  • Must successfully complete at least twenty (20) hours of continuing education annually.
