Primary Function:


Delivers essential healthcare services to a designated group of patients within the scope of expertise; emphasizing health promotion, disease prevention, and the management of minor acute and stable chronic conditions, in partnership with the supervising Physician, adhering to educational qualifications and state regulations.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct triage, diagnose, and treat medical conditions within the specialty area of practice.

Evaluate physical and psycho-social health status through comprehensive medical history and physical assessments.

Order and interpret diagnostic laboratory tests.

Implement therapeutic and corrective actions, including prescribing medications, while providing preventive health maintenance and education.

Instruct and counsel patients, families, and community groups.

Comply with all clinical policies and procedures of CHCB, including infection control protocols and confidentiality standards.

Offer clinical guidance to RNs, LPNs, and Medical Assistants.

Adhere to the stipulations outlined in the Physician Assistant Practice Agreement.

Engage in quality improvement initiatives.

Follow all directives set forth by the supervising physician in compliance with regulatory bodies governing healthcare delivery.

Execute special assignments as directed by the Chief Executive Officer or the Medical Director.


Prepare written documentation as mandated by the profession and department; maintain, distribute, analyze, and safeguard information for necessary records, reports, and statistics as instructed.

Guide, instruct, and assess physician assistant students assigned to CHCB.

Regular attendance is mandatory. Participate in meetings as required.

Perform additional relevant duties as assigned or requested.

Physical Demands:
Requires periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping. Evening work may be necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:
Physician Assistant degree from an accredited institution. Valid Physician Assistant license registration and DEA registration for the state of New York. National certification in the specialty area. Proficient in computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Compensation:
$54.63/hr.
