Key Responsibilities

The selected candidates will engage in a comprehensive range of activities related to radiological and environmental safety. Responsibilities may include:
  • Evaluating license applications for the use of byproduct, source, and special nuclear materials.
  • Conducting thorough inspections of operational and decommissioned facilities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Assessing materials licensees to verify adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Documenting inspection findings and preparing detailed reports on facility operations and safety management.


Successful candidates will be assigned to various offices based on their preferences indicated during the application process.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a combination of education and specialized experience in health physics or a related field.

Education Requirements

Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree in a natural science or engineering discipline, with a minimum of 30 semester hours in relevant subjects such as health physics, radiological science, or engineering.
