About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Engineer to join our Energetics and Propulsion Department in Tucson, Arizona. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing advanced technologies and concepts for fuzing devices, controllers, software, and mechanical and electrical interfaces for integration into missile systems and space vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and integrate fuzing devices, controllers, and software for missile systems and space vehicles
  • Collaborate with program management to plan and execute long-range programs
  • Review and improve manufacturing processes and problem resolution
  • Work with subcontractors to design and manufacture fuzing devices
  • Manage fuzing device development projects and propulsion subcontracts
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or related field, and 10 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced degree and 7 years of relevant experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in fuzing, one shots, engineering technology, and/or engineering design
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance required prior to start date
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Math, or related science degree
  • 12 or more years of directly related experience in fuzing devices and their applications
  • Systems knowledge to assure full development of fuzing device requirements and dissemination and flow down to subcomponent levels
  • Ability to perform fuzing trade studies evaluating different electrical designs and estimate design and production cost and schedule
