Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Culinary Director to oversee the operation of our kitchen and support the Executive Chef. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a leadership-level kitchen position within a high-volume fine dining restaurant and/or hotel environment.
The Senior Culinary Director will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, supporting the Executive Chef, and maintaining the highest level of safety, security, sanitation, and cleanliness of the facility. This role requires strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and creativity. The successful candidate will be able to work on their feet for extended hours and have a strong understanding of California labor and hiring laws.
Responsibilities- Oversight of kitchen operations, including menu planning, inventory management, and staff supervision.
- Supporting the Executive Chef in achieving culinary excellence and maintaining consistency in food quality.
- Maintaining the highest level of safety, security, sanitation, and cleanliness of the facility.
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure efficient and productive systems in all departments.
- Hiring, training, and evaluating kitchen staff to ensure they meet the company's standards.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including those related to food safety and labor practices.
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a leadership-level kitchen position within a high-volume fine dining restaurant and/or hotel environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work on your feet for extended hours.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of California labor and hiring laws.
