Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to join our team at Emory University. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to users of a DHIS2-based information system for neglected tropical diseases (NTDs).

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information technology and experience with Jira Service Management, Confluence, and DHIS2. They will be responsible for managing a Jira Service Management help desk, making contributions to a Confluence knowledge portal, training system users, and supporting enhancement of the system.

The Systems Administrator will work closely with the Task Force for Global Health team to ensure the smooth operation of the system and provide excellent customer service to users.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates and leads the development and maintenance of applications.
  • Consults with customers to understand business problems and develops technical solutions.
  • Provides technical expertise on applications, technical tools, and software.
  • Provides technical direction to customers and support staff.
  • Analyzes, codes/configures, and tests applications.
  • Assists in developing applications specifications.
  • Implements developed applications and provides customer support of applications.
Requirements:
  • Eight years of information technology experience OR a bachelor's degree and six years of information technology experience.
  • Expert proficiency in use of Jira Service Management and Confluence.
  • Familiarity with DHIS2, Smartsheet, REDCap, and/or Bitbucket preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and Google Suites.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt as needed.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple work-related priorities, in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
  • Professional-level proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Intermediate or professional-level proficiency in French (reading, writing, speaking).
