Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Coordinator to join our team at ProMedica. As a key member of our patient-centric care delivery model, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient experiences in clinical and non-clinical settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Immediately greet patients and visitors, registering new patients and verifying demographics and insurance information.
  • Answer and/or triage patient telephone calls, recording complete and accurate messages and obtaining necessary instructions from providers and staff.
  • Coordinate scheduling of patient appointments, rescheduling as requested by providers.
  • Collect co-payments, deductibles, and visit fees, as well as outstanding balances.
  • Provide excellent patient service by documenting information accurately, promptly, and legibly.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and coworkers, supporting internal and external customers to maintain a superior customer experience.
  • Maintain the provider schedule to meet customer service, access, and productivity standards.
  • Assist clinical staff and providers with outgoing phone calls and participate in practice staff meetings.
  • May function as a Medical Scribe, following System Policy SP17-14.
  • Accurately complete and submit the daily charge and payment reconciliation process.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Ability to understand directions, communicate, and respond to inquiries.
  • Able to promote a strong commitment towards achieving outstanding internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • General computer and typing proficiency.
  • Independent judgment and excellent interpersonal skills requiring minimal supervision and guidance.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a customer service or clerical setting.
