ProMedica is a leading healthcare organization that values patient-centered care. As a Patient Service Coordinator, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional service to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a warm and welcoming experience for patients and visitors, ensuring a positive first impression of our practice.
  • Register new patients and verify demographic and insurance information for existing patients, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Answer and triage patient phone calls, recording messages and obtaining instructions from providers and staff as needed.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling, rescheduling appointments as requested by providers, and collecting co-payments and outstanding balances.
  • Document patient information accurately and efficiently, utilizing medical charts, forms, and electronic communication systems.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and colleagues, supporting internal and external customers to maintain a superior customer experience.
  • Maintain the provider schedule, ensuring customer service, access, and productivity standards are met.
  • Assist clinical staff and providers with outgoing phone calls and participate in practice staff meetings.
  • May function as a Medical Scribe, following System Policy SP17-14.
  • Accurately complete and submit daily charge and payment reconciliation processes.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal directions, communicate effectively, and respond to inquiries.
  • Strong commitment to achieving outstanding internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • General computer and typing proficiency.
  • Independent judgment and excellent interpersonal skills, requiring minimal supervision and guidance.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a customer service or clerical setting.
