Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Building Automation Systems (BAS) Control Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, installation, commissioning, and support of BAS, focusing on HVAC, lighting, energy management, and other integrated building systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop control systems for HVAC, lighting, and energy management systems in commercial and industrial buildings.
  • Program and configure building automation systems (BAS) controllers, graphical user interfaces (GUI), and other related components.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and technicians to install, commission, and troubleshoot BAS.
  • Perform system integration for different subsystems, ensuring smooth communication between various building control systems (e.g., HVAC, lighting, fire, and security).
  • Create and review technical documents including sequence of operations, control drawings, wiring diagrams, and system architecture.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for BAS, including troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  • Work with clients to ensure their BAS operates efficiently and meets their performance expectations.
  • Stay up to date on the latest technologies and industry standards related to building automation and energy management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in building automation systems, HVAC controls, or energy management systems.
  • Proficiency in BAS programming languages (e.g., Tridium, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell).
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical controls, and system integration.
  • Familiarity with protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, LON, and DALI.
  • Experience with graphical interface design for BAS.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex control systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently or as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with energy efficiency and green building certifications (e.g., LEED, WELL).
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and protocols for building systems.
  • Certifications such as CEM (Certified Energy Manager) or PMP (Project Management Professional) are a plus.
