Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Communication Systems Expert to join our team at BAE Systems. As a Shipboard Radio Communication Systems Specialist, you will play a critical role in conducting training and testing of installed Radio Communications Systems on various classes of US Navy ships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth training and testing of Radio Communications Systems on US Navy ships
- Develop and maintain expertise in US Navy communications protocols, applications, and equipment/system set-up and troubleshooting procedures
- Work independently and as a member of a team to conduct testing of equipment/systems and crew proficiency in operation of shipboard communications systems
- Collaborate with shipboard personnel to ensure effective training and interaction
- Lead a watch team as a Satellite Communications Supervisor
- Travel and work at sea (up to 25%)
- Work in an industrial environment and wear required PPE
- Work at heights
Requirements:
- High school diploma and at least 4 years of related experience
- US Navy ET with shipboard/submarine experience
- US Navy A School
- Ability to set-up and operate complex US Navy communications systems
- Ability to effectively train and interact with shipboard personnel
- Ability to lead a watch team as a Satellite Communications Supervisor
- Ability to travel and get underway at sea (up to 25%)
- Ability to work in an industrial environment and wear all required PPE
- Ability to work at heights
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid US passport
- Experience as a technical instructor
- Shipboard Communications equipment maintenance experience
- CG, DDG or LCS ship class experience
- Time served at a Navy Computer and Telecommunication Station
- Clearance Level – Must be able to obtain: Secret
