The Logistics Operations Supervisor will play a pivotal role in developing the local market and will engage frequently with all Directors, Area Market Managers, service managers, drivers, and clients.
** Previous experience in the transportation and logistics sector is highly preferred
Key Responsibilities for the Logistics Operations Supervisor:
- Oversee the recruitment process (in collaboration with HR and Safety), driver training, and the management of residential transport deliveries, transfer station, and collection operations.
- Ensure that all scheduled drivers in the systems fulfill their daily assignments.
- Supervise all drivers and conduct inspections on company vehicles.
- Manage the facility's operations and prepare necessary reports.
- Facilitate coordination among all departments while maintaining appropriate staffing levels to ensure quality service and productivity.
- Assess equipment quality and availability daily, regularly review route data, and maintain an inventory of company vehicles and equipment.
- Engage with drivers to uphold the company's standards and policies.
- Conduct monthly safety meetings in collaboration with the Safety Manager, while reviewing and investigating all incidents to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Ensure that all employees receive performance evaluations at least once a year.
- Review fleet routing software reports for accuracy.
- Address customer service issues in collaboration with sales/customer care and clients.
- Manage staffing levels to reduce employee turnover.
- Possesses a comprehensive understanding of all systems related to waste management and disposal.
- Demonstrates basic proficiency in internet usage.
- Capable of mastering all company computer systems, including fleet routing software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in transportation and logistics.
- Experience in waste management with a focus on facility operations.
- Valid Class C driver's license.
- Clean driving record for the past three years as evidenced by current MVR.
- Class A MSW License or the ability to obtain one within three months of employment.
