Job Summary:

AVANGRID, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Electric Line Operations Supervisor to oversee the construction, operation, and maintenance of electric and/or gas distribution and transmission systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising employees, planning and scheduling work, and ensuring compliance with safety rules and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise employees in the construction, operation, and maintenance of electric and/or gas distribution and transmission systems.
  • Plan and schedule new construction work, preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, and training activities.
  • Ensure that construction and maintenance are completed in accordance with construction standards, following approved policies, procedures, safety rules, and budgets.
  • Interact with customers to solve problems and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Resolve customer issues and provide assistance to Technical Services on new construction and rebuilding existing plants.
  • Work closely with the PSC and local government agencies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience preferred.
  • Associate degree with a minimum of 7 years relevant experience or High School Diploma/GED required with 10 years of relevant experience and the completion of the relevant progression program.
  • Knowledge of line work and construction.
  • Knowledge of line, gas, and/or electric theory, switching, tagging, labor agreement, safety manual, leak detection methods, procedures, and instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of industry codes including NEC, NESC, Hazmat, and OSHA.

Certifications:

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • May require various DOT Operator Qualifications.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Results and customer service oriented.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-directed work skills with emphasis on multitasking.
  • Computer skills applicable to MS Word, MS Excel, SAP, and MS Outlook.
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills.
