Sports Team Manager

Job Overview
The Boston Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Athletic Coach to lead our sports teams to success. As a key member of our Athletics Department, you will be responsible for managing and coaching our student-athletes, ensuring their safety and well-being, and promoting a positive and inclusive team culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective coaching strategies to improve team performance and achieve athletic goals.
- Recruit, retain, and mentor student-athletes to ensure their academic and athletic success.
- Manage team schedules, practices, and competitions, ensuring compliance with MIAA and BPS policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other coaches, staff, and administrators to promote a positive and supportive team environment.
- Attend meetings, workshops, and training sessions to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including attendance, participation, and academic progress.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a coach or athletic director in a school or sports organization.
- Strong knowledge of the sport and ability to develop and implement effective coaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with students, staff, and parents.
- Certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED, as well as completion of annual Youth Sports Concussion Training Certification.
- Successful completion of the MIAA Coaches Education Course.
