About the Role

The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) is a key member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients in a timely and efficient manner. This per diem position will focus on providing care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, with a primary area of responsibility in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory care to patients in a variety of settings, including the NICU, pediatric, adult, and geriatric units.
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to meet those needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in patient condition.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years acute care experience, including pediatrics, trauma, and ventilator management.
  • AS in Respiratory Therapy preferred; BS in Respiratory Care desirable.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; strong patient assessment skills, strong communication and interaction skills.
  • Current RCP license issued by the state of California required.
  • CRTT, RRT, or advanced credential preferred.

Certifications

  • Adult RCPS: BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
  • NICU RCPS: BLS, NRP, and PALS.
