POSITION TITLE: Bilingual Caseworker (Spanish)

DEPARTMENT: Client Services

REPORTS TO: Manager, Wellness Program

STATUS: Union, Full-time, Non-Exempt

COMPENSATION: $24.62-$25.36 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Bilingual Caseworker at Project Open Hand plays a vital role in delivering compassionate support to clients by assessing their needs and determining eligibility for various programs. This position involves engaging with clients through intake interviews, answering inquiries, and performing essential administrative functions. The Caseworker collaborates closely with the Client Services team to ensure effective service delivery and to make informed decisions regarding client assistance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Human Services-related field
  • Proficient in computer applications (MS Office/Outlook)
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries in a social service environment
  • Bilingual in Spanish

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in Mental Health or Social Work
  • Background in working with clients facing multiple diagnoses (e.g., substance abuse, mental health issues)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process service applications and conduct client intake and recertification
  • Verify client eligibility by liaising with service providers and gathering necessary documentation
  • Maintain an organized client database, including scheduling and documenting client interactions
  • Assess client needs and provide appropriate referrals to community resources
  • Facilitate program orientation for clients to ensure they can access services effectively
  • Address client feedback and resolve complaints in a constructive manner
  • Conduct home visits and respond to crisis situations as needed
  • Act as a liaison between clients and various agency departments
  • Perform additional duties as required
