Job Description

1st SOS Staffing is a leading national staffing agency providing expert staffing solutions to various industries. Our team of professionals has been serving clients with outsourcing staffing needs since 2010.

We are seeking a skilled Food Service Worker to join our team in Tampa, Florida. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to food preparation, service, and maintenance of food service areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Food Preparation:
  • Assist in preparing and cooking food items according to established recipes and standards.
  • Measure and mix ingredients, and ensure food is cooked to the appropriate temperature.
  • Follow safety and sanitation guidelines during food preparation and handling.
Food Service:
  • Serve food to customers or patients according to their orders or dietary requirements.
  • Ensure that food presentation is attractive and in accordance with quality standards.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve any issues related to food service.
Cleanliness and Sanitation:
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
  • Clean and sanitize work surfaces, equipment, and floors according to health and safety regulations.
Stock Management:
  • Assist with inventory management, including receiving and storing food and supplies.
  • Monitor stock levels and notify supervisors when supplies are low.
Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards to prevent contamination and ensure a safe environment.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Customer Service:
  • Provide friendly and efficient service to customers or clients.
  • Handle transactions, including operating cash registers or processing payments when required.
Team Collaboration:
  • Work collaboratively with other team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist with training new staff members as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in a food service or kitchen environment is an advantage but not always required.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to lift and move items, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.

Work Environment:

  • Food Service Workers typically work in kitchens, dining areas, or food preparation spaces.
  • They may be required to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the establishment's needs.
