Job Overview

The Lead Student Worker oversees the management, training, and supervision of food service operations. This role ensures that food is prepared and served in appropriate quantities and adheres to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain work schedules while preparing production records.
  • Direct daily operational activities.
  • Ensure food production meets safety and quality guidelines as per established policies and departmental requirements.
  • Organize and maintain food storage in a safe and hazard-free manner.
  • Ensure all food items are served according to menu specifications and in compliance with safety protocols.
  • Uphold sanitation standards in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct weekly inventory checks.
  • Prepare orders as necessary to ensure accurate production levels.
  • Supervise and assess employee performance; provide guidance to enhance growth, efficiency, and teamwork.
  • Maintain a safe working environment free from hazards.
  • Train and mentor fellow food service staff.
  • Keep logs of maintenance required for departmental equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance checks.
  • Recommend necessary equipment replacements to meet operational needs.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in multitasking.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned by the Food Service Director or Manager that leverage your skills and experience.
  • Fill in for absent staff as required.
  • Stay informed about daily catering events to ensure timely preparation and delivery.
  • Participate in food service meetings with team members.
  • Maintain effective communication with staff through various channels.
  • May perform cashier duties as needed.
  • Foster positive public relations.
  • Be available for occasional evening and weekend catered events.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend verbal instructions.
  • Completion of a sanitation course is required within the first year.
  • Basic arithmetic skills are necessary.
  • Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Knowledge of operating a cost-effective program.
  • Capability to resolve interpersonal conflicts.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
  • Must be a student at the Aramark location.
