POSITION OVERVIEW
The Clinical Nurse is responsible for overseeing and coordinating nursing services for Labor and Delivery, Nursery, and Postpartum departments, adhering to clinical protocols for both outpatient and inpatient care.
Reports to the OB Manager. This is a Non-Exempt role.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute nursing responsibilities within the Registered Nurse scope of practice.
- Monitor laboring patients and fetal well-being.
- Provide care for newborns from delivery to discharge, including resuscitation and stabilization efforts.
- Educate new mothers on breastfeeding practices and available resources.
- Assist in the recovery of patients post-delivery, including after cesarean sections or other procedures.
- Deliver clear instructions to patients and their families.
- Support surgical procedures and maintain a sterile environment.
- Collaborate effectively with surgical teams during operations.
- Ensure proper management of specimens and surgical instruments.
- Respond promptly to any changes in patient status and treatment plans.
- Develop personalized care plans for each patient.
- Administer medications and manage any defective products.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities and customer service orientation.
- High level of organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Proficient in computer applications.
Job Functions:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach as necessary.
- Good finger dexterity along with clear vision and hearing.
- Occasional heavy lifting may be required.
