Role Summary:
As the RN Unit Manager at Seagate Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, you will be essential in assisting the Director of Nursing (DON) and Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to provide the highest standard of care for our residents. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a compassionate and professional atmosphere for both residents and staff.

Key Duties:
- Support the DON and ADON in managing daily operations of the Nursing Department, ensuring adherence to current regulations and facility policies.
- Ensure compliance of nursing staff with their designated roles and responsibilities.
- Address and resolve any issues or complaints raised by department staff, reporting to the DON as necessary.
- Lead and oversee your designated unit, promoting a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Work with the DON to ensure adequate nursing coverage around the clock, optimizing staffing and minimizing the use of overtime and agency personnel.
- Implement progressive counseling measures and recommend disciplinary actions as needed, following facility guidelines.
- Provide professional guidance and oversight to both professional and non-professional staff within the unit.
- Engage in committee meetings and quality assurance initiatives, contributing to ongoing improvement efforts.
- Demonstrate and instruct nursing skills, ensuring high standards of care for residents.
- Oversee the completion of Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments for the unit.
- Collaborate on discharge planning with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Prepare reports, review documentation, and assist with data collection as required.
- Participate in the recruitment of nursing staff, including interviewing and selection processes.
- Ensure that residents and their families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate environment.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license in the State of New York.
- At least 2 years of experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility.
