Role Summary: As an RN Unit Manager at Seagate Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, you will be essential in assisting the Director of Nursing (DON) and Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to uphold the highest standards of care for our residents. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a nurturing and professional atmosphere for both residents and staff.

Key Duties:
- Support the DON and ADON in managing daily operations of the Nursing Department, ensuring adherence to current regulations and facility standards.
- Ensure compliance of nursing staff with their designated roles and responsibilities.
- Address and resolve complaints or issues raised by department personnel, reporting to the DON as necessary.
- Lead and manage your designated unit, promoting a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Work alongside the DON to maintain adequate nursing coverage around the clock, optimizing staffing and minimizing the use of overtime and agency personnel.
- Implement progressive disciplinary processes and recommend actions as needed, in accordance with facility policies.
- Provide professional oversight and mentorship to both nursing and non-nursing staff within the unit.
- Engage in committee meetings and quality assurance initiatives, contributing to ongoing improvement efforts.
- Demonstrate and instruct nursing skills, ensuring high standards of care for the residents.
- Oversee the completion of MDS (Minimum Data Set) documentation for the unit.
- Collaborate on discharge planning with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Prepare reports, review documentation, and assist with data collection as required.
- Participate in the recruitment of staff, including interviewing and selecting nursing personnel.
- Ensure that residents and their families receive exceptional service in a caring and compassionate environment.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license in the State of New York.
- At least 2 years of experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility.
