POSITION SUMMARY:

The Live Production Coordinator and Prop Supervisor plays a crucial role in managing the dynamic environment of live broadcasts and original productions. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of stage management and prop inventory, ensuring seamless execution during telecasts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Stage Management: Direct daily newscasts and various original productions, including special events and client-focused projects.
  • Run of Show: Ensure precise execution of production cues, set transitions, prop placements, and talent positioning during live broadcasts.
  • Logistics Coordination: Manage all staging logistics both on and off camera, collaborating with the crew to prepare staging areas ahead of live events.
  • Communication: Liaise with producers and directors to confirm staging requirements, reviewing all facilities sheets and identifying necessary production elements.
  • Real-Time Updates: Provide ongoing updates to control room personnel regarding production logistics, ensuring smooth operations throughout the broadcast.
  • Set Changes: Organize and supervise all set modifications, including the arrangement of props and furnishings.
  • Studio Preparation: Maintain the news production studio, ensuring readiness for live broadcasts and breaking news at a moment's notice.
  • Prop Management: Oversee the ordering and organization of all prop inventory, ensuring all items are maintained and accessible.
  • Workspace Safety: Contribute to studio support operations, maintaining a safe and organized workspace, including managing storage systems and identifying potential hazards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the lighting team to ensure accurate stage marks are maintained.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three to five years of professional experience in live television stage management and prop oversight.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a talent for motivating team members.
  • Ability to perform effectively under the pressures of live broadcasting.
  • Strong understanding of video and audio production equipment.
  • Familiarity with news operating systems, such as ENPS, is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Ability to make swift decisions and provide clear instructions to stage personnel during live events.
  • Experience with props and grip work is essential.
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong leadership capabilities.
  • Membership in IATSE or willingness to join is required.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

COMPENSATION: $48.39/hr
