POSITION OVERVIEW: Under general supervision, the Front Desk Associate is tasked with supporting various operational duties. This role is crafted to enhance customer service capabilities, promote teamwork, and encourage professional development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (this is a brief overview of potential tasks):
- General responsibilities may encompass office tasks, tutoring, research assistance, dishwashing, food prep, serving meals, waiting tables, handling cash transactions, custodial duties, grounds maintenance, and inventory management.
- Balance technical and interpersonal skills while being able to work autonomously and collaboratively.
- Prepare necessary documents and materials as required.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, manage confidential information appropriately, prioritize tasks effectively, and oversee multiple projects with precision.
- Assist customers via various communication channels.
- Support special initiatives as needed.
- Maintain regular communication with the direct supervisor regarding work progress and task completion.
- Collaborate effectively with staff across all levels in a diverse and inclusive environment.
- Exhibit honesty, diligence, and courtesy at all times, respecting individuals from all backgrounds, races, genders, interests, and abilities.
- Foster mutual respect among peers and uphold the integrity of the organization.
- Show commitment to student leadership development.
- Adhere to a consistent work schedule.
- A high school diploma or equivalent educational background is mandatory.
The Foundation also plays a vital role in supporting nearly 1,100 programs and scholarships each year, including athletic initiatives and educational scholarships. Furthermore, the Foundation manages grants and contracts, enhances campus security, and supports several university publications, contributing over $1 million annually to Cal Poly Pomona.
