Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist in the Respiratory Care Services department is responsible for administering respiratory care services to adult and geriatric patients, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, advanced airway management, arterial puncture and analysis, ECGs, and mechanical ventilation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer respiratory care services to patients, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and mechanical ventilation.
- Conduct arterial puncture and analysis, ECGs, and other diagnostic tests as needed.
- Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans for patients.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and departmental performance.
Requirements:
- 1 year of clinical experience in respiratory therapy, with a preference for experience in emergency/trauma settings.
- Associate's degree in respiratory therapy or a related field.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
- NC Respiratory Care Practitioner certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 30 days of hire.
Work Schedule:
7pm-7am, with as-needed weekend and call requirements.
