Position Overview

The Senior Lecturer in Chemical Engineering will be responsible for delivering both in-person and online educational experiences for key undergraduate and graduate courses. The courses include, but are not limited to, Analysis of Transport Phenomena, Numerical Methods in Chemical Engineering, and Thermodynamics in Chemical and Biological Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct teaching and develop course materials for core graduate and undergraduate courses.
- Serve as Station Director for the Chemical Engineering Practice School as needed.
- Collaborate with faculty to enhance hybrid teaching methodologies, including the creation of content for existing courses in Chemical Engineering and the Digital Learning Lab (DLL).
- Engage in the writing of textbooks focusing on applied mathematics for engineering disciplines.
- Stay informed on the latest research in education and cognitive science, particularly as it pertains to digital learning environments.
- Explore and implement innovative pedagogical strategies for online education.
- Assess the effectiveness of online courses and teaching methods.
- Advise faculty and course teams on digital education technologies and blended learning practices.
- Promote best practices for online course development and delivery.
- Present research findings and educational innovations at national and international conferences.

Qualifications

Required:
- Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field by the time of employment.
- A minimum of four years of relevant university-level teaching experience, which may include experience gained during graduate studies.
- Proven excellence in teaching and experience in instructional design or course development.
