Job Overview:

PetsApp is in search of a seasoned process engineer with a minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial environment, holding at least a Master's degree in chemical engineering, thermal science, process engineering, or a related discipline.

Ideal candidates will possess experience in chemical separation and reactor design, with a strong preference for those who have worked with multiphase flow, heat and mass transfer, and thermal management systems.

The role involves the development of prototypes that require intricate design and testing of thermal and fluidic subsystems, integration of innovative materials into thermodynamic cycles, and modeling of thermal and fluid dynamics.

Process engineers will collaborate closely with the technical founding team to design, model, and enhance prototypes and their subsystems, ensuring seamless integration with our innovative materials.

Additionally, engineers will contribute to the technological advancements aligned with the company's strategic roadmap.


Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Conduct process modeling and thermodynamic analysis for innovative prototypes.
  • Design, model, and integrate fluidic subsystems involving multi-phase flow and transport.
  • Utilize simulations and experiments to determine optimal material parameters and validate design modifications.
  • Develop safety systems and testing protocols for prototypes.
  • Collaborate with contractors to specify functional requirements for various subsystems.
  • Create a Bill of Materials (BOM) for prototypes and assist with techno-economic modeling.
  • Engage in building and enhancing the company culture and values.
  • Mentor interns and co-op students on research and development projects.

  • 2+ years of work experience in chemical engineering, thermal science, or process engineering, with a strong educational background.
  • Strong foundation in thermodynamics, process modeling, and chemical separation.
  • Exceptional communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Chemical separation and purification processes.
    • Solid–liquid separation and filtration.
    • Creating process flow diagrams and modeling/simulation of chemical systems.
    • Handling of flammable liquids and gases.
    • Chemical reactor design, assembly, and validation.
    • Sourcing and integration of pumps, valves, and other fluid control equipment.
    • Knowledge of thermal and HVAC systems.
    • Thermal energy storage, transfer, conversion, and utilization.
    • Familiarity with thermal/CFD simulation tools.
    • Proficiency in thermodynamics theory and modeling software.
    • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB.
