Role Summary:
The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer position closely aligns with the qualifications and expertise of a Senior Systems Engineer. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles, management practices, and quality assurance systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the program lifecycle.

Your responsibilities will include balancing various complex project elements such as Program Planning, Risk Management, Life Cycle Management, Customer Feedback, Verification and Validation, Testing, Sustainment, and Retirement.

Your efforts will be crucial in ensuring compliance and maintaining the integrity of both internal and external requirements.

The selected candidate will promote cross-functional collaboration to implement process enhancements and resolve issues within the team, focusing on safeguarding and elevating overall design and product quality.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Offer technical support and guidance to customers, suppliers, and team members in troubleshooting issues.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and product efficiency, aiming to minimize nonconforming products.
  • Ensure that products align with organizational and customer quality standards and integrity requirements.
  • Provide analytical expertise throughout the inspection process.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in identifying root causes of failures, determining when failure analysis is warranted, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Analyze data to detect trends in product quality or defects, with the objective of preventing recurrence and future issues.
  • Drive solutions to intricate problems with minimal supervision.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Quality Standards such as ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100.
  • Expertise in process integration.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient time management skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for clear communication.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience:
A Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline is required.
5-7 years of experience in quality engineering or a related engineering role is essential.

Establish clear project objectives and develop actionable steps to ensure timely execution.

Proactively address challenges or constraints within projects and manage them effectively.

Assist Programs and Engineering teams in understanding and adhering to relevant specifications, requirements, standards, and best practices.

Collaborate with team members to identify and manage Risks and Opportunities.

Work proactively with the team to minimize or eliminate quality and performance issues.

Utilize analytical skills to conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.

Analyze trends in product and process performance from development through service, coordinating necessary root cause analysis and corrective actions related to suppliers.

Assist in reviewing and addressing non-conforming materials.
