Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate care for patients dealing with wounds, ostomies, and continence challenges.
  • Assess and monitor patient care throughout their hospital journey.
  • Encourage teamwork among healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient treatment.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in nursing is required.
  • Preferred candidates will have completed a Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Education Program.
  • Nurse residency is mandatory for those with less than 9 months of clinical experience.
  • A valid RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing is essential.
  • Certification from the Wound Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board is required.
  • Current CPR certification for healthcare providers is necessary.

Essential Skills:

  • Deliver patient-centered care in line with established nursing protocols.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills to facilitate multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Effectively prioritize patient needs and adapt care plans accordingly.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and analytical thinking.
  • Possess knowledge of advanced wound care techniques, including negative pressure therapies.
