Job Summary

CorVel Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Review Specialist II to join our team. As a Clinical Review Specialist II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the medical necessity of in-patient admissions and out-patient treatment, while supporting the goals of our Case Management department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough reviews of medical records to determine the necessity of treatment
  • Communicate with healthcare providers and claims staff to gather additional information as needed
  • Make informed decisions regarding certification or denial of treatment
  • Document all work in a clear and concise manner
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a diploma/Associates degree (Bachelor of Science degree or Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred)
  • Current Nursing licensure in the state of operation required
  • 4 or more years of recent clinical experience
  • Previous experience in utilization review, case management, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the clinical areas of O.R., I.C.U., C.C.U., E.R., orthopedics
  • Knowledge of the workers' compensation claims process
  • Outpatient utilization review experience
