Key Responsibilities- Operational Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the propane distribution facility, ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Coordinate delivery schedules and manage routing to ensure timely deliveries and minimize costs.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, placing orders as needed to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Ensure that all equipment and vehicles are properly maintained and operational, reducing downtime and increasing productivity.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to propane handling and distribution, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures, conducting regular safety meetings and training sessions for staff.
- Investigate and report any safety incidents or violations, taking corrective action to prevent future occurrences.
- Personnel Management:
- Supervise, train, and evaluate facility staff, including drivers, technicians, and administrative personnel, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
- Create and manage work schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts and minimizing overtime.
- Address and resolve employee issues and conflicts, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Customer Service:
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and service requests in a professional and timely manner, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and stakeholders, building trust and loyalty through excellent service and communication.
- Financial Management:
- Assist in the development and management of the facility's budget, ensuring that expenses are minimized and revenue is maximized.
- Monitor expenses and ensure cost-effective operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Prepare and analyze operational reports, making recommendations for improvements and enhancements.
- Logistics Coordination:
- Manage logistics for the distribution of propane, including coordinating with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
- Optimize delivery routes to maximize efficiency and reduce costs, minimizing the environmental impact of our operations.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of deliveries and inventory, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in business management or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in propane distribution or a related industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Certifications: Relevant safety and handling certifications as required by law.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in logistics and inventory management, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards, with the ability to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
- Ability to handle customer service issues effectively, with a focus on resolving problems and exceeding customer expectations.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
This position requires daily on-site attendance, with prolonged periods of standing and walking. The employee must be able to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to outdoor weather and hazardous materials. The ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) is also required, as well as the ability to position, transport, lift and/or move up to 15 pounds at a time. The employee must be able to stand, walk, move across large areas, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl or otherwise reach into confined spaces. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
