Nuclear Medicine Supervisor Job Description

Cayuga Health System is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Supervisor to lead our nuclear medicine division in a clinical setting. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe delivery of high-quality patient care, while providing leadership and guidance to a team of nuclear medicine technologists.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnostic and Therapeutic Procedures: Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures, adhering to all state regulations and maintaining department QA procedures and documentation.
  • Radiation Safety: Oversee and ensure compliance with the Radiation Safety Program and ALARA standards for the nuclear medicine department, adhering strictly to radiation safety protocols.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Exhibit strong leadership skills, supervising staff in delivering patient care, and optimizing imaging devices to guarantee high-quality images.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure prompt submission of all high-quality images and documents sent to PACS, providing feedback on image quality, and maintaining a clean and orderly department.
  • Staff Management: Coordinate with other departments on issues, oversee staff training, hiring, and evaluations, and recommend and manage equipment needs.
  • Credentials and CE Credits: Maintain all credentials and CE credits essential to the position, performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • Licensure: Must be ARRT(N) or CNMT certified, with a New York State Department of Health License or eligibility.
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
Additional Skills and Experience:
  • Problem-Solving and Attention to Detail: Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail is preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Good written and oral communication skills are preferred.
  • Time Management: Requires ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely, and adjust to changes in work volumes.
