Job Summary

Cayuga Health System is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Supervisor to lead our nuclear medicine division in a clinical setting. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe delivery of high-quality patient care, while providing leadership and guidance to a team of nuclear medicine technologists.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the operation of the nuclear medicine division, ensuring compliance with state regulations and department QA procedures.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with the Radiation Safety Program and ALARA standards for the nuclear medicine department.
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills and supervise staff in delivering patient care, optimizing imaging devices to guarantee high-quality images.
  • Ensure prompt submission of all high-quality images and documents sent to PACS, providing feedback on image quality.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and other areas.
  • Observe patients during procedures, report abnormal activity, and monitor protocols for updates or refinements.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner, maintaining compassionate patient care, comfort, and safety while ensuring patient confidentiality.
  • Coordinate with other departments on issues, oversee staff training, hiring, and evaluations, and recommend equipment needs.
  • Maintain all credentials and CE credits essential to the position.

Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • ARRT(N) or CNMT certification.
  • New York State Department of Health License or eligibility.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely, and adjust to changes in work volumes.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, safely transfer patients, and ambulate without assistance.
