Position Overview:

Stanford University's Division of Sleep Medicine is in search of a Clinical Research Coordinator Associate to oversee the management of clinical data collection and the orchestration of clinical trials.

This role is situated within Dr. Emmanuel Mignot's laboratory, which integrates fundamental molecular research with both translational and clinical studies. The selected candidate will operate under the guidance of the senior clinical research coordinator and will collaborate with a team of clinical research coordinators, taking the lead on moderately complex aspects of ongoing research projects.

This position allows for a hybrid work schedule, contingent upon operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary liaison for research participants, sponsors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of clinical studies from initiation to completion.
  • Assess participant eligibility and secure informed consent in accordance with study protocols.
  • Assist in the formulation of recruitment strategies.
  • Coordinate the collection and processing of study specimens.
  • Gather and manage patient and laboratory data for clinical research initiatives.
  • Maintain research project databases, create flow sheets, and prepare necessary study documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to research protocols and conduct thorough reviews of case report forms for accuracy.
  • Prepare regulatory submissions and manage institutional review board renewals.
  • Assemble study kits for participant visits and oversee the scheduling of procedures.
  • Monitor financial expenditures and ensure compliance with study budgets.
  • Engage regularly with the principal investigator to uphold patient safety and ensure proper study conduct.
  • Maintain essential documentation and record-keeping in accordance with institutional and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in monitoring visits and regulatory audits.
Qualifications:

Desired:
Bachelor's degree
Valid State of California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT I) Certificate
1 year of phlebotomy experience
2 years of relevant experience in clinical trial coordination.

Required:
A two-year college degree with two years of related work experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
Certifications:

Preferred certification from the Society of Clinical Research Associates or the Association of Clinical Research Professionals.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, and perform fine motor tasks. Occasional sitting, reaching, and desk-based computer work are required, along with the capacity to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds.

Working Conditions:

This role may require occasional evening and weekend hours. The position offers a flexible work schedule based on operational needs.

The anticipated pay range for this role is $31.73 to $36.54 per hour, reflecting Stanford University's commitment to equitable compensation based on various factors.
