Biomarker Development Scientist

Acrivon Therapeutics is seeking a dedicated Scientist to join our Biomarker Development Team. This role is pivotal in supporting laboratory research focused on biomarker identification and translational studies within the oncology sector. The successful candidate will work both independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team, contributing significantly to the understanding of drug action and resistance mechanisms.
Key Responsibilities- Engage in various stages of tailored biomarker discovery, selection, and screening processes that lead to the development of assays for cancer patient treatment selection.
- Participate in translational research initiatives to interpret clinical findings and validate biomarker expression using archival and patient-derived cancer tissue samples, as well as cells and tissues from in vitro and in vivo studies.
- Collaborate with a diverse team of researchers across oncology disciplines and with key internal and external partners.
- Stay informed on scientific and technological advancements by reviewing and critically analyzing relevant literature.
- Contribute to or lead scientific publications to disseminate research findings.
- PhD in cell biology, cancer biology, or a related scientific field, with a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience in either academia or industry.
- Strong experimental foundation and experience in hypothesis-driven translational research, with a proven ability to design and execute experiments related to biomarker development.
- Experience in analyzing and interpreting biomarker data in both preclinical and clinical contexts, along with knowledge of biomarker development and translational research.
- Familiarity with Brightfield and fluorescence microscopy, as well as image analysis techniques for assay development.
- Proven expertise in in vitro/ex vivo assay development and optimization.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in high-achieving team environments.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate complex scientific concepts, formulate and test hypotheses, and troubleshoot effectively.
- A strong track record of quality research and significant scientific contributions, as evidenced by high-impact, peer-reviewed publications, is highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
