Job Title: Pharmacy Technician II OPAT Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Therapy

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician II to join our OPAT team at the University of Maryland Medical System. The successful candidate will work under general supervision to provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients receiving outpatient parenteral antibiotic therapy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate care for patients receiving OPAT, including screening new starts, arranging medication, and communicating order changes to home infusion companies.
  • Manage lab safety, including lab retrieval, entry, and triaging of abnormal lab values to medical staff.
  • Maintain accurate lists, including daily review of active lists and participation in weekly OPAT rounds.
  • Collaborate with medical, nursing, and allied health staff to provide optimal patient care.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program and national certification required.
  • Maryland BOP registration and departmental IV training and certification required.
  • Three years of applicable experience and excellent communication skills required.
