Position Snapshot:
*The duties of a Caregiver Support Specialist may vary based on the needs of the individuals served and the specific program requirements.
Caregiver Support Specialists are responsible for delivering daily services to program participants. This includes assisting and teaching individuals with personal care tasks such as bathing, toileting, and dental hygiene, ensuring they look and feel their best.
Additionally, they assist with household maintenance, meal preparation, and shopping, while encouraging individuals to take increasing control and responsibility over their daily activities.
Caregiver Support Specialists may also accompany individuals to appointments and administer medications in accordance with established residential guidelines. They follow the routines of individuals, which may include Behavior Support Plans, personal care, and Physical Therapy.
New employees receive a paid 5-day orientation and training in CPR/First Aid, Safety Care, Defensive Driving, and Medication Administration Program (MAP). They also undergo program-specific training at their work site.
