Job Title: Tissue Procurement Coordinator

Midwest Transplant Network (MTN) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Tissue Procurement Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in the recovery of tissues and corneas for transplantation.

Responsibilities:
  • Recover tissues and corneas for transplantation, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and industry laws and regulations.
  • Maintain aseptic environments and utilize operating room equipment and recovery instrumentation effectively.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal MTN staff, hospital staff, processing partners, funeral homes, and other stakeholders involved in the donation process.
  • Conduct face-to-face interactions with donor families, if needed, and provide compassionate support.
  • Manage inventory control, receiving deliveries, and maintaining the Recovery Suite, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, laws, and regulations, and apply this knowledge to ensure compliance and excellence in tissue recovery.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in biological sciences or allied health, or equivalent knowledge and skills.
  • Minimum one year of related work experience, preferably in a medical or mortuary setting.
  • Ability to work 36 hours per week, with 12-hour call every other Saturday, and participate in rotation holiday on-call schedules.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable personal automobile transportation for company reimbursement.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
