Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team at Nuvance Health. As a key member of our Catheterization Laboratory, you will be responsible for performing invasive cardiovascular procedures, providing exceptional patient care, and collaborating with our medical staff to achieve optimal treatment outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the performance of invasive cardiovascular procedures, including angioplasty, under the direction of a qualified physician.
  • Prepare surgical trays and materials for procedures, ensuring a sterile environment.
  • Monitor patient hemodynamic status and ECG, collect and enter patient information, and generate reports at procedure completion.
  • Obtain medical histories, review lab work, educate patients and families, and obtain informed consent during pre-procedure interviews.
  • Prepare the cath lab, calibrate equipment, and perform daily QA checks to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Position patients, connect monitoring devices, perform ECGs, and document patient medical records.
  • Assist cardiologists with arterial closure devices, sheath removal, and hemostasis.
  • Act as a resource for staff members in the use and troubleshooting of complex technical equipment.
  • Collect data for the ACC-NCDR and Connecticut Registry databases.
  • Participate in other duties as needed, including inventory management, cath lab QI, and on-call responsibilities.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills and competence in interpreting EKGs and hemodynamic pressure tracings.
  • Experience in endovascular, interventional, and diagnostic procedures.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification preferred.
