Facility Biller/Coder Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Facility Biller/Coder to join our team at Western CT Health Network Inc. This is a remote position available in all states except CA and HI.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately and timely bill, code, and reconcile functions for two distinct outpatient divisions.
- Use ICD-10 and CPT-4 books and online references to identify codes and billing modifiers.
- Independently charge and code for two distinct outpatient divisions, one of which may be diagnostic, evaluation and management, or a specialty area, and the other may be common interventional radiology or cardiology procedures.
- Perform ICD-10-CM diagnostic and CPT-4 coding at a minimum accuracy rate of 95%.
- Research and resolve charging and medical necessity edits.
- Independently reconcile charges for areas of responsibility.
- Attend and participate in required hospital education programs to maintain and enhance coding skills and stay abreast of changes in codes, coding guidelines, and regulations.
- May provide back-up billing and coding to additional areas with similar scope.
- Provide technical guidance to people in Facility Biller/Coder Beginner positions.
- Use appropriate, accurate communication techniques when addressing billing barriers.
- Exhibit strong competency in use of all computer systems and applications commonly used for the position.
- Achieve the organization's established expectations regarding customer service, teamwork, and safety.
- Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
- Data entry, MS Word, MS Excel skills.
- Experience in charge capture process or medical record review.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and analytical skills.
- Documented proficiency in use of ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding as required by position.
- Knowledge of how to accurately use ICD-10 and CPT-4 books.
- Sound knowledge of basic code structure is required.
- 3 years of experience required.
- Experience coding interventional cardiac catheterization lab and/or interventional radiology procedures, and diagnostic radiology tests.
- Data entry, MS Word, MS Excel skills.
- Experience in charge capture process or medical record review.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and analytical skills.
- Documented proficiency in use of ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding as required by position.
- Knowledge of how to accurately use ICD-10 and CPT-4 books.
- Sound knowledge of basic code structure is required.
- Generally pleasant working conditions.
- Significant manual skills / motor coord & finger dexterity.
- Little or no potential for occupational risk.
- Sedentary/light effort.
- May exert up to 10 lbs. force.
Remote position available in all states except CA and HI. Standard hours: 40.00. Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4pm.
