Role Overview

The Facilities Management Supervisor is a vital role that supports a profitable operation by ensuring that assets are maintained and services are delivered efficiently while minimizing vendor costs. This position aids in new sales initiatives and manages expenditures to allow store teams to focus on customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Identify and execute preventative and corrective maintenance on all building assets and equipment.
  • Guide store teams to align project work with facilities management priorities and financial objectives.
  • Work with various systems including Plumbing, HVAC, Refrigeration, and Electrical equipment.
  • Assess repair versus replacement needs while managing costs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and Target guidelines.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Understand the role in achieving store sales goals.
  • Engage the team on workload priorities and share impacts of store processes on asset maintenance.
  • Utilize technology to prioritize daily work orders.
  • Evaluate store brand and vendor performance against maintenance standards.
  • Maintain and repair assets as needed.
  • Perform proactive maintenance as assigned.
  • Address reactive repair requests from store teams.
  • Assist with special projects and remodels in partnership with store teams.
  • Ensure work orders are completed and vendors are held accountable.
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions.
  • Support the training of new team members.
  • Share solutions to reduce vendor costs.
  • Assist in managing emergency situations as necessary.
  • Follow safety procedures and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Provide excellent service and a shopping experience that meets guest needs.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by identifying and correcting hazards.
  • Lead the team in executing best practices during onboarding and training.
  • Perform other duties as required by business needs.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic technical skills and experience with property assets are necessary.
  • 1-2 years of technical education in areas such as electrical, mechanical, carpentry, HVAC, or plumbing preferred.
  • Experience with basic repairs and troubleshooting is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in operating power tools and other equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Capability to remain focused in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

  • Ability to access all areas of the building to address issues.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift or move merchandise up to 40 pounds.
  • Capability to climb ladders and remain mobile throughout the shift.
  • Flexible schedule availability is required.
