Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Material Handler Lead to join our supply chain team at Staples, Inc. As a Material Handler Lead, you will be responsible for mentoring and training new material handlers, filling in for supervisors as needed, and operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, or electric pallet jacks to move product within the warehouse while adhering to safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mentor and train new material handlers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Fulfill supervisory duties as needed, including overseeing the operation of material handling equipment and ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, or electric pallet jacks to move product within the warehouse.
  • Work collaboratively with the supply chain team to ensure the efficient and safe movement of products within the warehouse.
  • Develop and implement processes to improve efficiency and productivity within the warehouse.
Requirements
  • 12+ months related experience in a warehouse environment; or any equivalent combination of acceptable training, education, and experience.
  • Ability to be Material Handling Equipment Operator certified and safely operate necessary material handling equipment as required.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations.
  • Basic English language skills (both verbal and written communications).
  • Ability to lift, push or pull equipment/merchandise weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
