Job Overview

The Senior Financial Accountant plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of financial data and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position is essential for managing financial reporting processes and supporting audit activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the monthly and quarterly financial closing procedures, guaranteeing precise and timely financial disclosures.
  • Examine and reconcile general ledger accounts to confirm accurate recording of all transactions in line with established accounting principles.
  • Generate comprehensive financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, while providing in-depth analysis of discrepancies.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly and annual tax filings, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Assist in external audit processes by supplying necessary documentation and clarifications regarding financial transactions.
  • Establish and uphold accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Offer guidance and mentorship to accounting personnel, facilitating their training and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with various departments to enhance business operations and streamline processes.
  • Perform additional accounting tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, ideally within a public company in the manufacturing sector.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting standards.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and strong organizational capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and various accounting software, with SAP and HFM experience being highly desirable.
