Position Overview

This role is primarily focused on serving as a communications and information technology (IT) expert within the Air Operations Center (AOC) and acting as an educator for the AOC Weapon System Formal Training Unit (FTU).

Eligibility Criteria

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver expert services as a senior communications/IT specialist and instructor.
  • Educate students on technical communications and IT management through structured training sessions covering management, IT program administration, and policy execution.
  • Develop and implement FTU course training related to IT and associated fields.
  • Monitor, assess, and document student progress and performance.
  • Represent the organization in meetings and functional area activities.
Employment Conditions
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be registered for Selective Service if male.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program, requiring initial and periodic drug testing.
  • Travel may be required for conferences, meetings, or functions away from the duty location.
  • Instructional systems development and curriculum development experience are highly desirable.
Qualifications

To qualify, candidates must meet specialized experience requirements as outlined in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for Training Instructor Series 1712.

Specialized Experience

Applicants should possess at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 level or equivalent, including experience in analyzing, designing, and developing instructional materials for Cyberspace Operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Candidates will be evaluated based on their knowledge of communications architecture design principles, Air Force AOC Weapon System architecture, and their ability to develop effective training materials and instructional methods.

This position is essential for maintaining operational continuity and effectiveness within the Air Operations Center, ensuring that training and educational standards are upheld.
