Position Overview
The Mod Squad team member will engage in the repair, reconstruction, or enhancement of components on fire apparatus, drawing upon skills acquired throughout the Rosenbauer production process. This role encompasses various departmental responsibilities aimed at achieving complex objectives to finalize the fire apparatus. Additionally, the technician will be involved in fabrication, plumbing, electrical work, and product finishing.
Key Responsibilities
All employees are expected to uphold Rosenbauer's Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the primary responsibilities associated with this position, which may evolve based on the organization's needs:
- Repair, reconstruct, or enhance components on fire apparatus utilizing skills from various aspects of the Rosenbauer production process.
- Execute diverse departmental tasks to meet challenging objectives in completing the fire apparatus.
- Engage in fabrication, plumbing, electrical work, chassis frame assembly, axle installation, air brake systems, and product finishing.
- Employ basic hand tools, grinders, sanders, torches, and other equipment to accomplish tasks on the fire apparatus.
- Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management to fulfill organizational and member needs.
Tools Utilized:
Hand tools, power tools, grinders, cut-off wheels, shears, welders, and measuring tapes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's): The following qualifications are essential for successfully performing the primary functions of this role:
Knowledge:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Comprehensive experience and knowledge across multiple departments (Electrical, Body Fabrication, and Finish) required.
- Prior experience in automotive or diesel mechanics preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in fire truck assembly preferred.
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude required.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
Skills:
Language:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specification documents.
- Proficient in accurately reading a tape measure.
- Capable of following both written and verbal instructions.
Mathematics:
- Competent in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across all units of measure, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Computer Skills:
- Able to perform basic computer tasks to access information or changes related to the build process and troubleshoot as necessary.
Abilities:
- Able to identify quality concerns, recognize changes in the production process, and make necessary adjustments.
- Able to prioritize tasks and multitask while meeting deadlines.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision in a collaborative environment.
- Able to comprehend and adhere to all safety protocols to foster a secure working environment for all.
