Job Title: Flex Team Member

Rosenbauer South Dakota, LLC is seeking a skilled and versatile Flex Team Member to join our production team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the build process by assisting in a variety of duties related to the build process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Repair, rebuild, or fix components on fire apparatus using skills from every aspect of Rosenbauer production process.
  • Perform electrical assembly duties, including routing 12V wires, connecting lights, hose reels, wire air pumps, dash components, fuse box, and other electrical accessories.
  • Route A/C lines and install vents.
  • Install doors, hose beds, compartment internals, and body panels.
  • Work on fabrication, plumbing, electrical, chassis frame, axles, air brakes, and finish products.
  • Utilize basic hand tools, grinders, sanders, torch, and other tools to complete the objective on the fire apparatus.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge in multiple departments (Electrical, Body Fabrication, and Finish) required.
  • Previous experience in automotive mechanics or diesel mechanics preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience building firetrucks preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and technical ability required.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Able to read and work from blueprints/spec books.
  • Able to read and understand a tape measure accurately.
  • Able to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Able to perform simple computer tasks to obtain information/changes related to the build process and/or troubleshoot.
  • Able to identify quality issues, recognize changes within the production process, and adjust as needed.
  • Able to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all.
Additional Requirements:
  • May be required to operate company vehicles to move parts needed from building to building for production purposes.
  • Ability to work evenings and/or weekends occasionally.
  • Overtime as needed to meet the needs of the department.
  • Local travel may be required.
