Job Title: Engineering Technician

NOVA Engineering and Environmental, LLC is seeking a skilled Engineering Technician to join our team for the Airport Project based in Norcross, GA. As an Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for conducting field testing and inspections of construction materials, including soil, concrete, asphalt, and masonry mortar/grout.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct field testing and inspections of construction materials to ensure compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, DOT, and project specifications;
  • Review blueprints and prepare for field observations on construction sites;
  • Document field activities, observations, and testing results on construction projects, and their conformance with project plans and specifications;
  • Use field and laboratory information management systems to record testing results;
  • Communicate field and laboratory testing results with Construction Services and Geotechnical Project Management staff, general contractors, and clients;
  • Calibrate field and laboratory equipment to industry codes and standards.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials preferred;
  • ACI certification is required;
  • Previous Airport experience a plus;
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including day and night shifts, and be willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions;
  • GDOT (RTT and QCT) and ICC certifications are a huge plus;
  • Ability to lift 40 to 50 lbs. and work with equipment on uneven ground;
  • Willingness to travel out-of-town for short duration assignments.
