Job Title: CEI Inspector

NOVA Engineering is seeking a highly skilled CEI Inspector to join our Transportation Department in the Norcross, GA metro area.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for verifying materials testing and recording, checking projects for compliance with laws, codes, and regulations. They will also deliver engineering and construction management support for a range of transportation projects, including roads, bridges, and greenways.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify materials testing and recording
  • Check projects for compliance with laws, codes, and regulations
  • Deliver engineering and construction management support for transportation projects
  • Field test soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and masonry mortar/grout for compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, DOT, and/or project specifications
  • Review blueprints in preparation for field observations on construction sites
  • Document field activities, observations, and testing results on construction projects
  • Communicate field and laboratory testing results with Construction Services and Geotechnical Project Management staff, general contractors, and clients
  • Calibrate field and laboratory equipment to industry codes and standards
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials
  • GDOT Certifications and CEI Experience required
  • Ability to routinely lift 40 to 50 lbs. (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to work and maneuver equipment on uneven ground and around active construction sites
  • Willingness to travel out-of-town for short duration assignments
