Job Description

Southwest Electric Co. is seeking an experienced manufacturing sales professional to manage regional and target customer accounts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales and be able to build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Travel to customer sites to promote products and services offered by Southwest Electric.
  • Solicit business opportunities that align with the company's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Review customer specifications to determine whether certain business opportunities are within the company's capabilities.
  • Develop and present proposals and quotations for products and services.
  • Identify market potential and orders potential within an assigned region or market.
  • Prospect potential customer base to build awareness of company offers and build opportunity funnel.
  • Provide expertise and recommend strategies consistent with the company business plan.
  • Participate in trade shows and conventions, making presentations to customers, and developing commercial material.
  • Lead the effort to resolve commercial disputes within assigned customer base.
  • Provide commercial support and facilitate technical and project support to customers.
  • Assist in resolving payment disputes with customers.

Requirements:

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
  • Complete a satisfactory nationwide criminal background check.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Up to 80% of a work week is expected to include travel to customer sites or conferences.
  • Occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Four-year degree from accredited institution or equivalent experience. A technical degree is highly desirable. 5 years or more relevant industry experience in sales.
