About the Role

The Mayor's Office of Employment Development (MOED) is seeking an experienced HR Specialist to support the National Dislocated Worker Grant program. As a key member of the MOED team, you will provide comprehensive HR services and guidance to management and employees, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment and Talent Acquisition: Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent, manage the applicant tracking system, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Onboarding and Orientation: Design and deliver engaging onboarding experiences, ensuring new hires are equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to succeed in their roles.
  • Employee Relations and Policy: Foster positive employee relations, interpret and administer HR policies, and provide guidance on labor agreements, grievance procedures, and other HR-related matters.
  • HR Information Systems, Reporting, and Payroll Processing: Maintain accurate HR records, ensure data integrity, and provide timely reports and dashboards to support business decisions.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience in human resources administration.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations affecting employment and human capital management.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, sustain professional relationships, and exercise sound judgment in HR matters.
